WA SRS visas

Australian SRS visas sponsored by Western Australia

BUILD A BETTER FUTURE IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa

A Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Class UX; subclass 475) is available for people under 45 years of age whose English language ability and employment skills will contribute to regional Australia.

The Skilled Regional Sponsored (SRS) visa was developed by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in consultation with State and Territory governments and is designed to assist regional areas attract, and retain, skilled migrants to meet skill shortages and boost development in regional communities.

In Western Australia (WA) there are nine regional areas (other than the Perth metropolitan area) where eligible SRS visa holders can live and work.

The scheme provides skilled migrants with a temporary visa to look for employment and explore lifestyle opportunities. After living in an area of WA outside the Perth metropolitan area for two years and having worked in regional WA for a minimum of one year, visa holders may become eligible for permanent residency.

The SRS visa is thus a provisional visa valid for a period of three years.

Applicants for the SRS visa will be required to sign an undertaking that they, and the members of their family unit, will live, work or study in regional WA for the duration of their visa (the SRS visa stage).

For further assistance and specific details, register with ASA where a consultant will be able to provide you with direct advice in relation to your application options.
