The Queensland Government is participating in the new Skilled Regional Sponsored visa and may provide sponsorship to qualifying applicants.

Queensland Sponsorship Guidelines
The Queensland Government encourages migrants with skills in demand to take advantage of the Skilled Regional Sponsored (SRS) visa and migrate to Queensland to contribute to the State's economy and share in the Smart State's future.

How to apply in Queensland for a SRS (provisional) visa
- Step 1 - ensure that you meet the basic SRS criteria and that you score at least 100 points on the general skilled migration points test
- Step 2 - Your occupation must be on the list above
- Step 3 - You must intend taking up residence in a designated regional area in Queensland
- Step 4 - ASA will now discuss your case with the QLD government (this step is a requirement)
- Step 5 - You now have to obtain the endorsement of the local officers in the area you intend to migrate to in Queensland
- Step 6 - You are required to present an approved occupations assessment
- Step 7 - Your approved occ assessment, together the endorsement of the local authority (step 5) is now sent to the state for consideration of your SRS application
- Step 8 - If your SIR application is approved by the Queensland state government, you now proceed with your visa application
