New! Migration Assessment Policy (MAP) – from 1 September 2008
From 1 September 2008 it is TRA's intention that a new assessment policy, Migration Assessment Policy (MAP) will replace the current Uniform Assessment Criteria (UAC) as the standards and procedures used to process applications for skills assessment for the purposes of General Skilled Migration.
All applications, including review applications, received by TRA on or after 1 September 2008 will be assessed against the MAP.

The TRA is still releasing information about the new assessment method.
Essentially, this means that strict apprenticeships will not be a 'must' - HOWEVER, *only* on the job training may still not pass the criteria - some short week/month courses, on-going assessment and workplace assessments, with official authorities will still be needed.
